I’m going to begin doing something new this week. My work has finally developed a program making telecommuting up to a few days a week an option. At my last meeting with my manager I asked about the program and she was in favor of my giving it a try. So, beginning tomorrow, I’m going to work from home a couple of days a week. This should save me some money on gas, and food, since I’ll just go to my kitchen to find some lunch instead of going out. I will also get close to 2 hours of my day back each day that I telework, since I won’t be sitting in traffic driving to and from work. And the best part? I don’t have to put shoes on and I can wear shorts when it’s hot or sweatpants when it’s cold :) It will be interesting to see how this goes, but I’m excited.

I picked up my copy of Revelation on my way home from work. Had it open and in the CD player before I even pulled out of the parking lot. The first song I listened to was Take It All because I had not been able to listen to it online during any of the previews. I like it! The whole album is really good. I’ve gotten the CD ripped and transferred to my mp3 player so I’m sure I’ll listen to it several times during the work day tomorrow.
I also picked up a copy of Over and Underneath by Tenth Avenue North. It was $6.99 and I used my $5 coupon from the Revelation pre-buy. You can’t beat that! I’ve heard a couple of their songs on XM recently and really like what I’ve heard.

Darn it Comcast! Lately in the evenings, my internet has been very spotty. I tried to talk via Skype with a friend living in New Zealand a couple of weekends ago and I dropped the call so many times we finally gave up. So frustrating, because due to the time difference, there’s really only about 3 hours a night, 2 nights a week, where it’s realistic to connect with each other. Tonight it’s totally down (let’s not talk about how I’m able to make this post…if you don’t want people sharing your internet, enable security on your router people). I’m seriously considering looking at DSL, at least until AT&T U-Verse comes to my area. My bro and aunt have AT&T DSL and their internet never seems to go down.

It’s official. Tony Stewart’s new number will be 14, in honor of AJ Foyt. Word is he’s planning on getting the number 4 for the second car, since that is the first number he ever drove when he got started in go-karts at the age of about 7. Also officially annouced today, co-sponsors Old Spice and Office Depot. I would like to start a pool right now as to how many times he mixes up the Depots at the beginning of next season. My family does it all the time in regards to talking about the company I work for (Home Depot).
I still have such mixed feelings about all this. I am really going to miss Tony in his #20 Home Depot car. For me, at least as long as HD continues to sponsor the car, I’ll always think of that as Tony’s car. And like I’ve said before, I think most of all, I’ll miss the Smoke and Zippy duo. But after reading this article, and hearing Tony’s comments about really wanting to stay involved in the sport through ownership after his driving days are over, I can’t do anything but support him in this new deal. I had a gut feeling the Toyota thing didn’t sit all that well with him, so I guess a part of me felt this was coming since last September. Good luck Tony and go #14 team in 2009!

When I came home this evening, I went to my DVR recordings to watch an episode of 90210 and I noticed something I had forgotten about on the list of recorded programs. I forgot that I hit the record button on Fox on my way out the door this morning. So, I watched the Third Day performance from today’s Good Day Atlanta while I ate my dinner. I cannot wait until next Tuesday. I’ll have to figure out the logistics of how I’m going to pick up my copy. I pre-ordered from Lifeway, but I have a tennis match after work. So despite the fact that gas is still nearly $4 a gallon, I might have to drive all the way up to Kennesaw during lunch next Tuesday. But I’ve driven all the way to Rome and Athens (Georgia, not Italy and Greece!) and Orlando to go see a Third Day show, so I guess driving from Vinings to Kennesaw shouldn’t be that big a deal.
